A private fishing trip gives you the freedom to shape the experience around your group. Choose anything from a shorter trip at sea to a full day of fishing, depending on how much time you want on the water.

Looking for a particular catch? We can target species such as halibut, cod, pollock or mackerel depending on the season and conditions. Or leave the plan to your captain and let the weather, season and local knowledge determine where we fish that day.

For larger groups or special arrangements, we can also organise larger vessels, allowing us to create private fishing experiences for groups beyond the capacity of our standard boat.

A fantastic experience with Hooked on Lofoten! We had five people on the boat, and the guide was absolutely great. Even though the fishing season is quite challenging right now, I managed to catch three large cod and several saithe. A really wonderful extra service at the end: the guide professionally gutted and cleaned the catch, so I was able to take the fish with me perfectly prepared to eat. Highly recommended!

He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and humorous and cooked us some fantastic fresh fish burgers for lunch. Would highly recommend this to anyone, whether beginner or more experienced! Erland is an incredibly knowledgeable guy with bags of humour too - ask about his fish butchery! We got a unique experience that we won’t forget in a hurry. Top class, would recommend to anyone in Lofoten (and although not included, the sauna and dip in the sea after was the cherry on the top!). Vi var heldig med været og alle sammen fikk flere fisker hver. Vi matet havørn med de minste fiskene, før vi dro inn til kai hvor Erlend viste oss hvordan man sløyer fisken. Talkative in a good and relaxed way and was both joking and telling anecdotes. After the fishing trip he instructed us how to take care of every part of the fish and cut up the fish for us. We also had the Hooked and cooked experience were Erland instructs the chef how he should serve every bit of the fish, and the chef at Nyvågar was incredible in making Erlands vision come to life. I wish we’d found them sooner because this was by far our favorite experience in Lofoten. Erland was very genuine and knowledgeable, let us know what to expect, and was very kind and accommodating with our 4yo— even setting up a child’s fishing rod for him to use. They’re also nice, respectful guys who felt like an extension of our group and were able to adapt to our needs easily- making for an even more enjoyable trip. Would book again if I’m ever lucky enough to be back in Lofoten ;)

On a private trip, there is time to use that knowledge around what you want from the day – whether that means searching for a particular species, trying different fishing grounds or simply enjoying a relaxed day at sea.

Can we target a specific fish species?
Yes. If you are hoping to catch a particular species, let us know when booking. Depending on the season and conditions, we can plan the trip around species such as halibut, cod, pollock or mackerel.

How long can we go fishing for?
Our private fishing trips can be adapted depending on how much time you want at sea. Contact us with your preferred duration and we will help create the right trip for your group.

Do I need fishing experience?
No. Private fishing trips are suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced anglers. The fishing can be adapted to your experience and interests.

Can I take my catch home?
Yes. Your catch is yours to take with you. You can also leave it with the captain or arrange to have your fish prepared for dinner at Nyvågar.

Can we combine fishing with other experiences?
Yes. Depending on availability, season and conditions, we can create a longer private experience combining fishing with crab fishing, sightseeing or other experiences in Lofoten.

Can you accommodate more than 5 guests?
Yes. Our standard private fishing boat accommodates up to 5 guests, but larger vessels can be arranged for bigger groups.

Is catching fish guaranteed?
While we cannot guarantee a catch, we catch fish on almost every trip. Species and size vary depending on the season and conditions.

What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety always comes first. If the weather or sea conditions are not suitable, we may reschedule or cancel the trip. If we cancel because of unsafe weather conditions, you will receive a full refund.
