Set out by boat and discover Skrova – a peaceful island surrounded by turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and spectacular views toward the Lofoten mountains.

The experience begins with a scenic boat journey from Nyvågar, crossing the open waters to Skrova – often called one of Lofoten’s hidden island gems.

On the island, your guide leads you on a memorable hike through beautiful coastal landscapes, quiet trails and elevated viewpoints, where the sea, beaches and mountain scenery come together in every direction.

Skrova has a very special atmosphere – peaceful, open and shaped by life between sea and land. This experience offers a different side of Lofoten, away from the busier routes and closer to the rhythm of island life.

After the hike, we return by boat with unforgettable views and memories from a day where sea and land meet in the best possible way.

This small-group experience is ideal for guests who want to combine a scenic boat journey with hiking, nature and a quieter side of Lofoten.

Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Hiking time: Approx. 2–3 hours including breaks
Distance: Approx. 5.8 km return
Elevation gain: 258 metres

Important Information:

Meeting Point:
The tour departs from Nyvågar Rorbuhotell, Storvåganveien 26, 8310 Kabelvåg.
Please arrive 15 minutes before departure.
What to Bring:
Good hiking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and a camera.
Fitness Level:
A reasonable level of fitness is required for the hike. The tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Meeting Point & Pickup Options

The tour normally departs from Nyvågar Rorbuhotell in Kabelvåg. If you are staying at Skårungen and would prefer pickup from there, please contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.

Pickup from Svolvær or Henningsvær may also be possible for an additional fee. For other pickup requests, please contact us at info@hookedonlofoten.com

In case of bad weather, we reserve the right to reschedule or cancel the tour. In case of cancellation due to bad weather, a full refund will be issued.

He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and humorous and cooked us some fantastic fresh fish burgers for lunch. Would highly recommend this to anyone, whether beginner or more experienced! Erland is an incredibly knowledgeable guy with bags of humour too - ask about his fish butchery! We got a unique experience that we won’t forget in a hurry. Top class, would recommend to anyone in Lofoten (and although not included, the sauna and dip in the sea after was the cherry on the top!). Vi var heldig med været og alle sammen fikk flere fisker hver. Vi matet havørn med de minste fiskene, før vi dro inn til kai hvor Erlend viste oss hvordan man sløyer fisken. Talkative in a good and relaxed way and was both joking and telling anecdotes. After the fishing trip he instructed us how to take care of every part of the fish and cut up the fish for us. We also had the Hooked and cooked experience were Erland instructs the chef how he should serve every bit of the fish, and the chef at Nyvågar was incredible in making Erlands vision come to life. Amazing day and amazing dinner with our own fish! Worth every penny spent!

I wish we’d found them sooner because this was by far our favorite experience in Lofoten. Erland was very genuine and knowledgeable, let us know what to expect, and was very kind and accommodating with our 4yo— even setting up a child’s fishing rod for him to use. Don’t skip the chef’s preparation, the food is incredible— and not just because you helped catch it!

Our day with Hooked on Lofoten was truly one of our best days in Norway. We cannot recommend this trip enough to people who want a great experience, whether you’re a fishing purist or a nature lover. Both are clearly passionate about Lofoten, knowledgable and led our group confidently. They’re also nice, respectful guys who felt like an extension of our group and were able to adapt to our needs easily- making for an even more enjoyable trip.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We booked a fishing tour for 4 hours and we really enjoyed it. We went to different places and catched some nice fish. It lasted for 3 meals for 6 persons and was really delicious. I would definitely recommend and book again!
