There is something special about sitting down to a meal knowing you caught it yourself.

Your experience begins at sea on one of our fishing trips from Kabelvåg. After returning to shore with the day’s catch, the journey continues at Nyvågar, where your fish becomes the centre of a multi-course dinner.

What ends up on the plate depends on what you catch. That is part of the experience – no two Hooked & Cooked dinners are exactly the same.

The menu is created around the catch of the day. Rather than arriving to a fixed seafood menu, you sit down to dishes built around the fish you caught only hours earlier.

The chefs at Nyvågar prepare a minimum of three courses, turning your catch into a dinner that completes the journey from sea to table.

A fantastic experience with Hooked on Lofoten! We had five people on the boat, and the guide was absolutely great. Even though the fishing season is quite challenging right now, I managed to catch three large cod and several saithe. A really wonderful extra service at the end: the guide professionally gutted and cleaned the catch, so I was able to take the fish with me perfectly prepared to eat. Highly recommended!

He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and humorous and cooked us some fantastic fresh fish burgers for lunch. Would highly recommend this to anyone, whether beginner or more experienced! Erland is an incredibly knowledgeable guy with bags of humour too - ask about his fish butchery! We got a unique experience that we won’t forget in a hurry. Top class, would recommend to anyone in Lofoten (and although not included, the sauna and dip in the sea after was the cherry on the top!). Vi var heldig med været og alle sammen fikk flere fisker hver. Vi matet havørn med de minste fiskene, før vi dro inn til kai hvor Erlend viste oss hvordan man sløyer fisken. Talkative in a good and relaxed way and was both joking and telling anecdotes. After the fishing trip he instructed us how to take care of every part of the fish and cut up the fish for us. We also had the Hooked and cooked experience were Erland instructs the chef how he should serve every bit of the fish, and the chef at Nyvågar was incredible in making Erlands vision come to life. I wish we’d found them sooner because this was by far our favorite experience in Lofoten. Erland was very genuine and knowledgeable, let us know what to expect, and was very kind and accommodating with our 4yo— even setting up a child’s fishing rod for him to use. Don’t skip the chef’s preparation, the food is incredible— and not just because you helped catch it!

Our day with Hooked on Lofoten was truly one of our best days in Norway. We cannot recommend this trip enough to people who want a great experience, whether you’re a fishing purist or a nature lover. They’re also nice, respectful guys who felt like an extension of our group and were able to adapt to our needs easily- making for an even more enjoyable trip. Would book again if I’m ever lucky enough to be back in Lofoten ;)
