Discover Lofoten with Javen & Eirik
In March 2025, popular Chinese influencer Javen 嘉文儿 visited Lofoten as part of his global adventure series. Guided by our local host Eirik, they explored the dramatic coastline, caught Arctic waves, and experienced the unique rhythm of surf life far above the Arctic Circle.
This video captures the essence of their time here – surfing in snow-covered landscapes with the mountains behind and the open sea in front. It’s a glimpse into the raw, peaceful beauty that makes Lofoten one of the world’s most unforgettable surf destinations.

Eirik – your local guide
Meet Eirik Okkenhaug – your local guide with a story unlike any other. Originally from Trondheim, Norway, Eirik spent seven years living in China, where he made a name for himself as a rapper under the stage name Xiao Ou. He released a Chinese-language album and toured across the country, becoming one of the very few Norwegians with a loyal Chinese fanbase.
Today, his love for nature and a slower, more grounded lifestyle has brought him to Lofoten. Here, he leads small-group adventures, sharing the magic of the Arctic with visitors from around the world – especially Chinese guests, who appreciate both his cultural understanding and language skills.

THE EXPERIENCE, IN OUR GUESTS' WORDS
More Than Just a Guide

“From the moment he picked us up and greeted us in fluent, natural Chinese, the trip instantly felt warmer and more reassuring.”
“Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, Lofoten became the most meaningful and memorable part of my Nordic trip.”

Full-Day Sightseeing with Chinese-Speaking Guide
Discover Lofoten with a local Norwegian guide who speaks fluent Mandarin and spend a full day travelling from Svolvær through some of the most beautiful landscapes, beaches and fishing villages across the islands.
Along the way, we visit some of our favourite places as well as many of Lofoten’s iconic sights. Enjoy panoramic views from Torvdalshalsen, explore the coastline of Flakstadøya and walk along the white-sand beaches of Ramberg and Skagsanden.
We continue towards the fishing villages of Hamnøy, Sakrisøy and Reine before reaching Å at the southern end of the Lofoten road. Along the way, we stop for lunch at Anita’s Sjømat, known for local seafood and its close connection to Lofoten’s fishing traditions.
FROM SVOLVÆR TO FLAKSTADØYA
Beaches, Mountains & the Road West
We leave Svolvær and travel west through the islands, with our first stop at Torvdalshalsen for views across the surrounding mountains and landscape. From here, we continue towards Flakstadøya and the white-sand beaches of Skagsanden and Ramberg.
HAMNØY · SAKRISØY · REINE
Into Lofoten’s Fishing Villages
Further west, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic as we reach Hamnøy, Sakrisøy and Reine. We take time to explore, enjoy the views and learn more about life in Lofoten’s fishing communities. In Sakrisøy, we stop at Anita’s Sjømat for lunch, where you can try local seafood and other regional flavours.
THE ROAD TO Å
To the End of the Lofoten Road
From Reine, we continue south towards Å, one of the last villages at the end of the Lofoten road. After time to explore the village and its surroundings, we begin the journey back towards Svolvær, with stops along the way when time and conditions allow.
Svolvær → Torvdalshalsen → Skagsanden → Ramberg → Hamnøy → Sakrisøy → Reine → Å → Svolvær
