THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE EXPERIENCES

Hooked on Lofoten

We are a small team based in Kabelvåg, brought together by a shared love for life outdoors and a desire to show people more than just the highlights of Lofoten.

Fishing, mountains, the sea, local food and life in these islands are not simply things we offer as tours. They are part of how we spend our own time – and what we genuinely enjoy sharing with our guests.

HOW IT STARTED

Built Around What We Love

Hooked on Lofoten started with a simple idea: to create the kind of experiences we would want to join ourselves.

Small groups. Good local guides. Time to ask questions, change plans when the weather changes and actually get to know the place you are visiting.

Since starting in Kabelvåg, we have brought together different people, skills and passions – from fishing and life at sea to hiking, culture, food and winter adventures.

We are different people, but that is also what makes Hooked on Lofoten work. Everyone brings something of their own to the experiences we create.

MEET THE TEAM

The People Behind Hooked on Lofoten

Born & Raised in Lofoten

Erlend

Born and raised in Lofoten, Erlend has spent his life close to the sea. Fishing, boats and coastal life have always been part of his everyday life, and today he shares that knowledge with our guests.

You will often find him behind the wheel of the boat, on a fishing trip or guiding a private journey through the islands. Along the way come the stories, local knowledge and little details you only pick up from actually growing up here.

Fishing, Nature & Life Outdoors

Lasse

Lasse has spent most of his life fishing and being outdoors. Fishing is his greatest passion, and his knowledge stretches from the sea to rivers and mountain lakes – he even makes his own fishing lures.

But a day with Lasse is about more than fishing. He loves cooking over an open fire, sharing what he knows and getting to know the people he guides. Easy to talk to and genuinely interested in people, Lasse creates the kind of relaxed atmosphere where good conversations become just as much a part of the experience as the adventure itself.

Nature, Adventure & an Unexpected Story

Eirik

Eirik’s path to Lofoten has been anything but ordinary. Originally from Trondheim, he spent seven years living in China, where he became known as the rapper Xiao Ou, released an album in Chinese and toured across the country.

Today, life looks a little different. Drawn to nature, adventure and a slower way of living, Eirik now calls Lofoten home. He guides hiking, snowshoeing and outdoor experiences – and with fluent Mandarin and a deep understanding of Chinese culture, he has a special connection with many of our Chinese guests.

Bookings & Creative Direction

Kirstine

Kirstine is often the voice behind the phone and the person answering your emails and taking care of bookings. With a background in project management and marketing, she is also the creative force behind our branding, communication and new ideas.

When she is not working, you will most likely find her outside, exploring, creating or heading off on a new adventure.

HOW WE DO THINGS

Small Groups. Local Knowledge. Room to Adapt.

Keep It Small

Small groups give us time for people. There is room to ask questions, learn from your guide and change the pace when needed. You are not simply following a group from one stop to the next.

Let Nature Decide

Weather changes quickly in Lofoten. So do the sea, snow and fishing conditions. Rather than forcing the same experience every day, we adapt when it makes sense and work with the conditions we have.

Keep It Local

We work with local people, restaurants, artists and businesses whenever we can. Local food, knowledge and craftsmanship are not additions to our experiences – they are part of what makes Lofoten the place it is.

WHAT WE SHARE

Experience Lofoten With Us

Our experiences follow the things we know and love ourselves – fishing, life at sea, mountains, local food, culture and the changing seasons of Lofoten.

Join a small-group tour or let us create something privately around the way you would like to experience the islands.

Authentic Experiences,
Genuine Connections

We keep our experiences small, personal and close to the nature around us. With local knowledge and time to connect, we share Lofoten in a genuine way.

Travel with Purpose,
Respect with Heart

We believe in responsible tourism. By using local food, supporting local partners, and keeping groups small, we protect Lofoten’s nature and culture for future generations.

Personalized Experiences for Every Explorer

No two guests are the same, and neither are our tours. We customize each experience to suit your wishes and skill level -whether you’re looking for relaxed fishing, easy hikes, or a combination of both.
